Once Broken Faith by Seanan McGuire - 432 pages
October Daye Book 10
Once again October finds herself embroiled in fae politics as a conclave is called to deal with the ramifications of there now being a cure for elf shot. Fae are prohibited from killing each other so elf shot had served as a deterrent for centuries because those shot would sleep for a hundred years. With a cure, the threat is removed so what's left to prevent bad behavior in the fae realm? October and her friends find themselves in the thick of murder and intrigue as the conclave turns dark.

The Winter Long by Seanan McGuire
The Winter Long by Seanan McGuire - 368 pages
#8 in the October Daye Series
The prologue from the author says that this book is the first one she plotted out in the series and all the other books exist to get the characters to this point so I was very intrigued from the start. McGuire's world building throughout the series has been very strong. She blends our current world with the realm of faerie in a believable way with dynamic characters. I look forward to every new entry in this series.
This book begins with October seemingly getting everything she ever wanted, acknowledgement as a hero of the realm from the faerie ruling class, a true understanding of her personal firstborn heritage, and a rock solid relationship with Tybalt by her side. An unexpected visit from a long thought vanquished nemesis reopens old wounds and tears October's world apart and her understanding of past events is rocked to the core.

October Daye Book #6
Almost a year has passed since Knight of Faerie October Daye saved the world yet again and suffered enormous personal losses as the cost. Daye is still recovering when another crisis is dumped in her lap. Fellow Knight, Etienne contracts her services to locate his kidnapped changeling daughter who is endangering all of Faerie with her uncontrolled talents. This is a series best read from the beginning so that the relationships make sense. The scenes with the burgeoning romance between October and Tybalt are pretty darn poignant for urban fantasy. I consume this books quickly and always look forward to the next one.
