A remarkably strange book - part prose, part poetry, part theater script. It reads nearly stream-of-consciousness in places. This is the first book in ages where I didn't know what would come next. Very engaging reading experience.

It's our world exactly- history, geography, society - except for a significant difference: Genetic mutations that cause people to turn into animals. Completely. The progress of the disorder is different based on what type of animal a person is transitioning to. Wren and Lewis are newlyweds, but instead of going on their honeymoon, Lewis gets diagnosed with a mutation: He's turning into a great white shark. Over the coming months he grows scaly, his bones turn to cartilage, he craves raw fish... he literally becomes a shark who must be released into the ocean.

This is an entirely unique book from others I've read. It's hard to even explain it in words. But I highly recommend it, if you're looking for something special.
