Thank You for My Service by Mat Best

Thank You for My Service by Mat Best--224 pages

The author is a retired Army Ranger who served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan who became a social media sensation among the military community. His objective was to use humor to help military personnel, like himself, who were having trouble adjusting to civilian life after serving. The book is outrageously funny and crude in the same manner as Deadpool. After stumbling a bit, Best has found his calling and become a successful entrepreneur.

Undetected by Dee Henderson

Undetected by Dee Henderson --  476 pages

Widower Mark Bishop commands the USS Nevada, a ballastic missile submarine. Gina Gray, sister of Mark's friend Jeff,  is a young, gifted ocean scientist whose world revolves around making submarines safer while she dreams of being of finding a husband.  Despite the difference in their ages, Mark and Gina's friendship grows as they work together on her most recent and secret project.

There is a lot of excitement as Gina's military surveillance project is tested during the threat of war in the Indian Ocean and some Christian comments as Mark considers his relationship with Gina and plenty of information about submarines.  This is a continuation of Henderson's 2013 book Unspoken.
