Polk, Abraham Lincoln, and Henry Clay. I also enjoyed reading about Nicholas Trist, who bravely defied President Polk to negotiate a treaty with the Mexican government.

It's nice that the cover art got changed up a bit and Corine no longer is featured lounging on cars.  Corine is back in Mexico City trying to get her life back in order and adjust to her growing witch powers.  Drug cartel minions are still hunting her and an assassination attempt is thwarted by an enigma from her past, Kel Ferguson, Hand of God.  Corine's life is thrown into chaos as she tries to lift the bounty on her head and figure the nature of Kel.  I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Blue Diablo by Anne Aguirre

Blue Diablo: A Corine Solomon novel by Anne Aguirre - 336 pages

This is first entry into an urban fantasy series featuring a reluctant heroine with the skill of handling (gaining history of objects through touch) who is trying to rebuild her life in Mexico City while hiding from her enemies.  A not so ex-boyfriend with a supernatural gift of his own lures her back into her old life to locate his mother who has been kidnapped by a drug cartel.  The magical elements are blended into a very realistic world in a believable way.  I liked this book so well that I immediately sought ought the rest of the series.
