I'm glad that I re-read Castle Waiting Volume 1, because Volume 2 picks up literally right where the first one left off.  For those fans who've been waiting since 2006 for the next installment in the Castle Waiting series, this volume does not disappoint.  Readers will find out more about crazy Dr. Fell, the plague doctor, Simon's father, a small giant, and Henry's dwarf family.  While we still don't know who the mysterious father of Jain's baby is, if there is a ghost in the tower, or how Henry's son died, just enough hints are dropped to leave readers clamoring for the next edition.

This is the first volume of Castle Waiting, collecting the various stories of Linda Medley's graphic series.  Castle Waiting is a once-enchanted castle where all are welcome- and all have a tale to tell.  This modern take on classic fairy tales is full of strong female characters, such as Lady Jain and her mysterious newborn, and Sister Patience and her story of faith and friendship, circus and cloister.  There are also stories of loss, such as Henry the metalsmith, who has his broken heart mended with iron bands.  It can be read by all ages, but is really best appreciated by adults.  Great for any fairy-tale fans.
