In this second volume of Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask gets kidnapped and taken over by evil.  Sailor V joins the gang of Sailor Senshi as Sailor Venus, and it turns out that she is the protector of Sailor Moon, who was once Princess Serenity of the Moon.  And who knew that Sailor Moon's tears were where the Silver Moon Crystal was hiding? This series is light and fun and I think girls would really enjoy it.

Kardashian Konfidential by Kourtney, Kim & Khloe Kardashian 256 pages.  This is a read for Kardashian fans, but not so much if you are not a fan or have never watched their reality shows.  This is the sisters' first book.  The sisters gab about their relationship with each other, their individual relationships with their father, their family, and their significant others.  The book is packed with pictures of the famous sisters and their family.  The pictures really showcase the sisters and their individual personalities.  This book is a pseudo biography of their lives as they talk about their pasts, their careers, and the future.  There is evidence of their arrogance in this book.  We can't help feel sorry for them as they talk about totaling their brand new BMWs when they were each sixteen.  It makes us want to say poor little rich girls.  Famous for  being famous and having a father who defended one of the most notorious criminals of the 20th century(OJ Simpson), I take the Kardashians at face value:what you see is what you get.

This book was a fun read about self improvement and getting to know the inner you.  Most people remember Molly from the TV show Facts of Life or the movies Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club. Her personal stories coupled with fun illustrations make this a light read.  Molly gives tips from throwing dinner parties to skincare to parenting skills.  She shares stories about her marriages, her children, and her life in Paris.  She also shares her relationship with her in laws who live in Greece.  This book made me feel more accepting of the person I am while realizing at the same time there is always room for improvement.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol 1, by Naoko Takeuchi, 236 pages

Usagi Tsukino is an average 14-year old girl who can't make it to school on time, does poorly on tests, and really likes rice balls.  Until she meets a black cat named Luna- then the adventures begin.  Luna convinces Usagi that she can transform into Sailor Moon, and it is her job to find allies to protect the Moon Princess and defeat the princess's enemies.  This is shojo, schoolgirl manga at its finest.  There's a mysterious boy named Tuxedo Mask whom she might be falling for, and a cute brainy girl and a cute tough girl who are her new best friends. The whole thing is worth reading, even if for no other reason than to hear her battle cries of "Prism Power!" and my personal favorite, "Makeuuuuuuuup!"  It's silly, but delightfully so. Recommend for young and older teens.
