Decorating With Books by Marie Proeller Heuston

Decorating With Books by by Marie Proeller Hueston, 143 pages

House Beautiful published this beautiful book on decorating your house with books.  This book contains beautiful pictures of different rooms in the house and how the books are displayed.  Books are in every room in the house.  Books are on shelves, on tables, on the floor, and on the fireplace mantel. The books are tastefully displayed almost like works of art.  I guess the new use for books are as end tables or bedside tables.  Or, for a more uniform look, you can cover all your books in the same color.  I had trouble letting go of this book.  I wanted to keep it forever!

Margo And Marky's Adventures In Reading by Thomas Kingsley Troupe, 24 pages

Margo and her bookmark, Marky travel to faraway places and meet interesting people from the library. Books can teach you anything like how to cook and write.  Books are powerful.  Books about people are called biographies.  Many adventures begin in the library!

Librarian On The Roof!: A True Story by M.G. King

Library On The Roof!: A True Story by M.G. King, 28 pages

Library On The Roof is a true story based on RoseAleta Laurell who spent a week in 2000 on the roof of the Dr. Eugene Clark Public Library in Lockhart, Texas to raise funds for the children's section of the library.  The town of Lockhart and supporters raised almost $40,000!  I found it incredible that RoseAleta had such devotion to her library to do this!
