Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning

Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning - 496 pages
Fever Series Book Eight

The latest installment finds the gang in search of the Song of the Making to try and repair the fabric of the universe which was torn asunder when the walls dividing the realm of Man and the realm of Faery were destroyed.  Mac and her crew must fight dissension in their own ranks along with outside threats while on this quest.  Fever world is fully realized and I'm interested in what happens to the characters even when the plotting has a few issues.  I also think its interesting that the marketing changed drastically this far into the series with regards to cover imagery.

Iced by Karen Marie Moning

Iced: A Dani O'Malley Novel (Fever Series) - 512 pages

The story picks up right where ShadowFever left off.  Humanity is struggling in a world where the walls between our world and faery have crashed and monsters view us as prey.  Dani "Mega" O'Malley is a teen in Dublin trying to do what it takes to survive.  Luckily she has special skills due to her heritage and she has a weapon that can be used to give faery a true death.  Dani's former best friend is out to kill her, a monster from the other side is icing slices of Dublin seemingly at random, and way too many grown men are interested in Dani's welfare.

The Fever series showcases the best of what urban fantasy can be.  There is strong world building, the characters are fully realized and the plot is action packed.  I look forward to the rest of the Dani trilogy within the overall Fever world.
