I love Roald Dahl, but I had never read this classic of his. Danny lives with his father in a trailer behind their gas station. They are content with their lives, but when Danny wakes up one night and finds his father missing, things take a brief but interesting turn. It is missing the larger-than-life, so-ridiculous-it's-impossible-but-that's-what-makes-it-awesome characteristics that appear in most of his other books, but this one has a certain sort of sweetness about it. It's basically a 224-page "I love you, Dad."
