This has promise for being a good Batman arc.  Catwoman and Killer Croc both participated in a ransom- but are they the ones behind it?  Can Batman trust Catwoman- even work with her?  Can romance bloom between the two?  This is definitely just the beginning- someone is running a scheme in the background and neither Batman nor the reader yet know who it is.  There are good, strong female characters in this one, which is always nice to see in comics.

You don't have to know a lot about Catwoman, or Selina Kyle, to understand and appreciate this fast-moving, action-packed adventure.  After Selina Kyle is presumed dead, she has to make some money- fast.  Naturally, when she finds out about a deal sure to bring in millions, she enlists a couple of friends to pull off a fool-proof heist.  What she isn't counting on, however, is Detective Slam Bradley, and what happens when the deal goes south.  Selina is just Selina in this book- Catwoman doesn't even make an appearance.  The art is very stylized and retro in this edition, and the story moves along like a movie.  I would recommend it to anyone interested in comics- no prior DC knowledge needed.

I heard that this was a good introduction to learning more about the Catwoman storyline, and it was.  It kind of comes in mid-timeline, but you can infer alot of her history.  Catwoman, also known as Selina Kyle, is back in Gotham City, but she's not just out for stealing diamonds and fighting Batman (unless she has to).  There's a drug ring in the East End, and crooked GCPD cops are behind it.  When an innocent kid winds up in the hospital after being used as a drug mule, Catwoman swings into action and takes on the whole police force.
