Death of a Valentine (Hamish Macbeth #25) by M.C. Beaton

Death of a Valentine (Hamish Macbeth #25) by M.C. Beaton-246 pages in print; 5 cds, 6 hrs. Audio CD

I have previously read a couple of Hamish Macbeth mysteries by M.C. Beaton. I listened to this one on a recent road trip. I really enjoyed listening to it. Hamish Macbeth is a Police Sergeant in a small, quaint village in the Scottish Highlands, Lochdubh. A new Constable (police officer) is assigned to work under him in his quaint village. Her name is Josie McSween and she has a massive crush on Hamish. She tries her hardest to get Hamish to notice her romantically. When a local young woman with a reputation for philandering/flirting is murdered Josie thinks it could be the perfect opportunity to get closer to Hamish. Will Hamish finally tie the knot or is Josie McSween hiding something? I would give this 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend it, especially to those who enjoy cozy mysteries.

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 3: Crushed by G. Willow Wilson

Ms. Marvel, Vol. 3: Crushed by G. Willow Wilson-112 pages

Ms. Marvel's story continues as Valentine's Day approaches in Jersey City and Loki arrives tasked with finding remnants of The Inventor/an infant villain left behind by him. Love is in the air as Bruno is in love with Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. However, he doesn't get the chance to tell her his true feelings. An old friend, Kamran, who recently moved back to Jersey City comes over to visit Kamala and they hit it off. Later that night, he convinces her to sneak out and reveals that he, too, is an Inhuman. Kamala thinks she might be in love with Kamran and they nearly kiss. Is Kamran all he seems to be?
