This story is set in the neighboring towns of Jarabina and Kamienka, Spis, Slovakia. It follows a young teen, Marienka, of sixteen years and her arranged marriage to a man, Ivan, in the neighboring town. It gives a great sense of everyday life in Central Europe, Eastern region in the Carpathian Mountains.
