'Twas the Night by Kevin Johnson

'Twas the Night by Kevin Johnson- 288 pages

You better watch out. You better not cry.

It’s Christmas in the village of Yule, Maine.

In fact, it’s always Christmas in Yule. Here, Santa Claus isn’t a storybook figure. He’s an icon. A god. The villagers don’t just believe in him—they worship him. And the world is better for it.

Halley Belanger hates Christmas, and she doesn’t have much love for Santa either. But when a string of child disappearances across Maine seems to spare only the village of Yule, Halley—a sharp, skeptical reporter—decides to investigate.

What she finds is a town that guards its secrets with gingerbread smiles and a snow globe sheen. Outsiders aren’t welcome. She isn’t welcome. And something sinister is keeping the Christmas spirit alive.

As Halley digs deeper, she begins to uncover the horrifying truth behind Yule’s eternal cheer. Christmas comes at a grisly cost. And Santa Claus is no saint.

An interesting twist on Christmas and Santa Claus.  I really liked the plot of this but some of it wasn't really cohesive.  The ending was ok, I'd give 3 stars

Cajun Night Before Christmas by Trosclair

Cajun Night Before Christmas by Trosclair - 48 Pages

This Cajun Christmas classic takes the traditional story of jolly old St. Nicholas, dress him in muskrat from his head to his toes, pile his skiff high with toys, and hitch it to 8 friendly flying alligators. It is written in Cajun style language and is a great twist to a holiday classic.

Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by William Joyce

Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by William Joyce - 228 pages

Before SANTA was SANTA, he was North, Nicholas St. North—a daredevil swordsman whose prowess with double scimitars was legendary. Like any swashbuckling young warrior, North seeks treasure and adventure, leading him to the fiercely guarded village of Santoff Claussen, said to be home to the greatest treasure in all the East, and to an even greater wizard, Ombric Shalazar. But when North arrives, legends of riches have given way to terrors of epic proportions! North must decide whether to seek his fortune…or save the village.
When our rebellious hero gets sucked into the chaos (literally), the fight becomes very personal. The Nightmare King and his evil Fearlings are ruling the night, owning the shadows, and sending waves of fear through all of Santoff Clausen. For North, this is a battle worth fighting...and, he's not alone. There are five other Guardians out there. He only has to find them in time.

Manga Claus: The Blade of Kringle by Nathanial Maurunas

Manga Claus: The Blade of Kringle by Nathanial Marunas, 80 pages

This book just happened to catch my eye.  Whose fantasy does not include wanting to see Santa Claus as a superhero and a super ninja.  When an angry elf creates a bunch of ninja teddy bears that set out to destroy Santa's workshop, Santa must come to the rescue.  With his samurai swords, Santa becomes Manga Claus.  Will he be able to save Christmas in time?
