Maika has been betrayed by Tuya, the Baroness, of the Dusk court. The Dusk court want Maika's power for themselves and don't trust her with it. Revelations abound in this seventh volume. I continue to enjoy reading this series and eagerly anticipate the release of the next volume.

I continue to enjoy reading through this series. It is so well drawn and I like the story. Maika Halfwolf and her allies are now in the midst of a war between Arcanics and humans and the different courts. Maika summons her grandmother, the Wolf Queen, in the midst of the battle for Ravenna. Maika is steadily embracing who she really is and the presence of Zinn, the Old God who's paired with her blood. I look forward to reading the next volume and the release of the 8th volume next month.

Maika Halfwolf stumbles onto her father while chasing after the little fox, Kippa, and her kidnappers. It turns out her father had Kippa kidnapped to draw Maika to him. She learns more about her childhood and about Zinn, the Old God living inside her. Her father leads a previously unrevealed court, the Blood Court. He intends to rule over the known world (Arcanics, humans, and Ancients alike). Will Maika ally with her father? Will she defy him and go her own way? The big question still remains: can Maika save the known world from total, utter destruction? I continue to enjoy reading this series and intend to read the next volume, for sure. I give this four out of five stars.

I am really starting to get into this story. Maika Halfwolf continues to search for answers about who she is and how her mother died. She is also seeking answers to what is inside her. This search takes her to the Isle of Bones where she meets an Ancient, the Blood Fox. He's been imprisoned at the Isle of Bones for decades and seeks freedom in exchange for the answers Maika seeks. Who is Maika and what is the power contained within her? I would rate this 4 out of 5 stars and I'm intrigued to continue reading more of this story.
