Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs by Max McCoy

Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs by Max McCoy-291 pages

I really enjoy the Indiana Jones films and I recently learned of the novels. This one is written by someone I have met in real life. Max McCoy is the current director of the Center for Great Plains Studies (CGPS) at Emporia State University where I was a Graduate Assistant while I earned my MLS. Dr. Jim Hoy was the director when I was there, but he has since retired. Both Dr. Hoy and Max McCoy were professors in the English department at Emporia State. I didn't enjoy this novel as much as the films but it was pretty good. The novels are set before the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, although, Rene Belloq is a small player in this novel, which is fun.

The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down: How to Be Calm and Mindful in a Fast-Paced World by Haemin Sunim

The Things You See Only When You Slow Down: How to Be Calm and Mindful in a Fast-Paced World by Haemin Sunim, 265 pages

I discovered this book on our shelf in new books at the library.  I liked this book so much, I am considering purchasing it.

Haemin Sunim is a Zen Buddhist who teaches and writes in South Korea. The book is full of spirtual wisdom and inspiration on how to slow down and enjoy everyday life.  This bestselling book sold over 3 million copies in Korea. The book also contains beautiful artwork by Youngcheol Lee.  This was a very calming and relaxing book to read.
