Opinion: I honestly thought the book was kind of boring. But it was an easy read and had good holiday vibes, which is why I read the whole thing.

Under the Whispering Door is a contemporary fantasy about a ghost who refuses to cross over and the ferryman he falls in love with.

This book made me laugh and cry, sometimes both at the same time! This is the second book I have read by this author, the first was The House in the Cerulean Sea. Loved them both!

Linus Baker is a caseworker for the Department in Charge of Magical Youth. He has been working at the same job for 17 years and is in a rut. One day he is summoned by the Extremely Upper Management and given a special assignment: to travel to an "orphanage" on a distant island and investigate the six magical children and their "Master" who cares for them. 

I enjoyed getting to know the characters and found the story a delightful and fun read.
