Let America Be America Again by Langston Hughes, 22 pages
One of Langston Hughes' most well-known poems, Let America Be America Again is as relevant now as it was when it was published in 1936. The wistfulness of the words--the yearning desire for an ideal that never quite was--sits both quietly and unsettled with me. Also, the woodcuts by Antonio Frasconi are fantastic.
