The Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel by Rick Riordan and Robert Venditti

The Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel by Rick Riordan and Robert Venditti (128 pages)

Summary: Mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking out of the pages of twelve-year-old Percy Jackson's textbooks and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now, he and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. Series creator Rick Riordan joins forces with three of the biggest names in the comic book industry to tell the story of a boy who must unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Opinion: I read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians chapter books when I was in middle school. I remember main plot lines, but wanted to get a refresher, especially with the new Percy Jackson TV show airing last month. The graphic novel format is nice for a quick read, but I'm not the biggest fan of the drawing/graphics style. To me the characters look like they are in their 20s or 30s when they are actually barely even teenagers. It was quite distracting from the novel, so I don't know how many more of the Percy Jackson graphic novels I'm going to read.
