After fast-talking Fox leaves him with a large, green egg, Bear spends minutes, hours, days, and weeks lovingly caring for it with the help of his neighbor Hare.
This book is so cute for grades 1-3. The Fox tricks the Bear into thinking a watermelon is a donkey egg. The Bear takes good care of the egg but it does not produce a donkey. The Bear realizes how to get a donkey another way and tricks the Fox in return. Love the ending!!
