The Guns of John Moses Browning by Nathan Gorenstein

The Guns of John Moses Browning by Nathan Gorenstein-336 pages

Browning (1855-1921) lived during a time of great advances in mass manufacturing that allowed his firearms designs to become common throughout the world. The reliability of Browning's sporting rifles and shotguns provided contracts with Winchester, Colt, and Remington, while his early pistol designs were bestsellers in Europe. In later years, Browning designed military weapons for the U.S. in World War I.  Illustrating Browning's genius, some of these rugged firearms would arm the Allies throughout the Second World War to the current day. The author's research illuminates not only Browning's inventive work, (and the work of his brothers) but also his many business travels and family life.
