Hunting Che by Mitch Weiss & Kevin Maurer

Hunting Che by Mitch Weiss & Kevin Maurer-300 pages

This is an account of how the elusive Earnest "Che' Guevara was apprehended in Bolivia in 1967. Guevara was one of Fidel Castro's enforcers before abandoning Cuba to spread communist revolution in Africa and elsewhere. Guevara's mission in Bolivia never gained support from the locals, and prodded the Bolivian government to ask the U.S. to train a unit of Rangers to track down the foreign revolutionary (Guevara was from Argentina.) The authors interviewed key participants in the events, and include rare photos. Although Guevara died stoically and is know today for selling many t-shirts, the book gives a clear view of his violent career and cynical view of the world.
