This book offers an account of a mission in Afghanistan that resulted in the first Medal of Honor for a member of the Air Force since the Vietnam War. John Chapman was an Air Force Combat Controller whose job was to call in precision air strikes for special operations teams. The book describes his selfless actions, and also other Combat Controllers' missions in the early stages of the Afghan war. Schilling is a former Combat Controller, and his coauthor is John Chapman's sister.
