The More of Less

The More of Less by Joshua Becker 240 pages

This is another minimalism book about clearing out your clutter in order to live a more meaningful life. Stuff ties us down in more ways than one. First and foremost,  it takes away money that can be used for other things. What is less thought about though, is that everything you bring into your life, it adds a bit more of a burden to you because now you have to clean the thing, store the thing, repair the thing, ect. Humans need very little to live happy and fufilling lives. Yet we pack out houses full, then buy bigger houses to pack full again. Think about the average home in the 1950's. Not only have our homes majorly increased in size, but the amount of items in them have, while the amount of people living in the homes has typically decreased (people are having smaller families). Joshua shows the correlation between all of our things and how stressed out we are today. It really is an insightful little book.
