Clara is from Denmark traveling from town to town in search of something with a past the reader is unaware of. She comes across a lovely little English town that must have once been beautiful and thriving, but all the stores have closed except a post office, a pub/small hotel, and a cute little toy shop. Clara happens to be in the pub when Louisa, the toy shop owner comes in saying that she can't take it anymore, she is tired of working at a shop that is supposed to be filled with happy children, be empty all the time and she is going to take an extended vacation and close the shop down. Clara feels drawn to the shop and asks if she could possibly look after it while Louisa is gone. Louisa agrees, and Clara uses her danish charm and lessons of "hygge," to bring life back into the toy store. Is it enough to save it? Will Clara find what she has been looking for?
I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was like a warm hug. Such a cozy read to curl up under to covers with on a winter night. Very cute.
