The Family Next Door by John Glatt

The Family Next Door by John Glatt, 307 pages

A shocking true story about the heartbreaking imprisonment of the thirteen Turpin siblings in California and their extraordinary rescue.  This was a horrific book to read that did not leave out any details of the filth and squalor these children lived through at the hands of their parents.  The book starts by describing the childhood's of the parents.  The mother, Louise married her husband when she was just sixteen.  John Glatt wrote a truly reviting story, including the children's rescue and their recovery.
