Amos Decker and FBI partner Alex Jamison are visiting his hometown when he is approached by Meryl Hawkins, the first person Decker ever arrested for murder. Meryl is now terminally ill, but still swears her never committed the murders. Decker starts to go through the old case when he finds a connection to a new crime he may be able to prevent as long as he figures it out fast enough.
