DS Lucy Black has returned home to Derry, Northern Ireland to take care of her ailing father. She starts work in a new position with the police and is quickly drawn into a missing persons case involving both a found girl and a lost girl. The case quickly consumes her and brings to light both the hidden past of the community and also that of Lucy and her family. This book is very atmospheric and the city itself is a very strong character in the story. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.
