The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace

The Princess Saves Herself in This One
by Amanda Lovelace
208 pages

"A poetry collection divided in four parts: the princess, the damsel, the queen, and you.  The first three sections piece together the life of the author while the final section serves as a note to the reader.  This moving book explores love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment, and inspiration."  --from the publisher

I found the book to be very moving and authentic.  It is also well written.  Lovelace ably conveys emotion and events with only a few words.  My daughter is about the same age as the author, so the poems provided me with some insight into her life experience and perception.  (Our library shelves it in Teen Nonfiction.)
