The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever - 373 pages

Miranda has been in love with her best friend's older brother Turner since she was 10 years old.  He was kind to her when she felt ugly and unloved.  Now it's 9 years later and she is still in love with him even though he's turned angry and bitter after his first brief marriage to an adulterous liar.  He doesn't think he'll ever love again.  But Miranda and Turner keep getting thrown together until the impossible seems to happen . . . .

This was an enjoyable historical romance.  It was interesting to read about a character that refuses to believe he's in love.
