No Longer on Pedestals by Carol A. Kuhnert - 385 pages
This non-fiction book is written about a serial pedophile, who was also a Catholic Priest. In it, the Priest's sister tells about how she found out from her daughter, and how she repeatedly asked the Catholic Church for help and information. She states her disappointment in the Church's reaction to her brothers' actions, and the response, or lack of it that she received from them. How instead of removing her brother from the ministry, they just moved him to different parishes. Her disillusionment that they used money donated to hire lawers' to either find a way to not have the priests' prosecuted or payoff the victims. She also tells about finding her brothers' victims and showing them that she believed them, supported them, along with helping them try to get the Catholic Church to acknowledge and apologize for their lack action. Having been brought up Catholic and raised to respect the clergy, this was a hard book to accept the facts, of the actions of some priests' and the men above them.
