Aftermath: Star Wars by Chuck Wendig

Aftermath: Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens by Chuck Wendig - 400 pages

This book was a drag to get through.  I love Star Wars way more than the average person and I found this pretty boring.  There is a long history of Star Wars books that take the narrative forward from the original three movies but the filmmaking side of things has decided to declare the book world as it existed in the past as an alternate timeline and restart things with this book as a bridge to the new movie.  There is a whole lot of scene setting and character introduction in this book but not much plot to make you care about what is happening to anyone in the story since they are all new to us for the most part.  Hopefully the movie will do a much better job of taking the story forward.
