This dystopian young adult novel throws you into the middle of a war between fairies, gnomes and an invading enemy. The world Moskowitz creates is so incredibly vivid that you can feel the grit and broken glass of the troubled city. 16 year old Beckan and her "family" made of her truest friends are left behind when the fairies retreat to try and keep the resistance alive and find their own form of justice. I found this world one that I wanted to know more about right away and there were plenty of places where I laughed out loud and then immediately teared up on the next page.
