Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand -- 528 pages

A true World War II story of survival and faith.

Louis Zamperini was first a wild child, then a rebellious young adult, and then an Olympic runner. When World War II began he joined the military and became the bomber of a plane.

When his plane crashed, him and two others survived and lived for months on a life raft in the middle of the ocean. One man died while they floated. The other two were captured by the Japanese who were brutal and cruel in their treatment of POVs.

This story is a true biography, honestly told, and mixed with details of the war and accompanied with journal entrees and pictures. I was deeply moved and will remember this story for years and years to come. Louie Zamperini is my hero.
