This is a book of Cary Elwes' remembrances of making one of my all-time favorite movies -- The Princess Bride.
I enjoyed his stories of the making of the film. Some of the stories of the special effects, injuries, and sword fighting practice really make me want to watch the movie again so I can pick out when certain things took place.
The book did seem to get bogged down occasionally with his praise and adoration of his co-stars and co-workers. It got to be a little much. At one point I thought that the book almost should have been billed more as his remembrances of Andre the Giant. It seemed that almost every story somehow circled back to him in some way.
Overall, I'm glad I read this book. It seems to be fairly popular. I saw that it was just reviewed on here a little bit ago and I know of a couple others who are waiting to also read it. My suggestion is to just stick with and you'll really enjoy the book in the end.
