Was not sure if I was going to like this book based on other things I
have tried reading by him and not even finished…but surprisingly I did! Set in
a futuristic world where humans are scum and elites (think hybrid robot) run
the world…there is unseen battle brewing between the two. Agent Hayes Baker has
been an Elite for as long as he can remember, but after chasing down a criminal
and seriously injuring himself a discovery is made about him as he lay on a
operating table….a discovery that will reshape his world and the entire world
as it is known to man and the elites.

This book is perfect for reassuring little ones about going to the Dr.,
although it does not address the whole issue of kids getting shots, at least
this story may ease their apprehension to get them in the door.

I swear they will write anything and put the frozen characters in it to
sell a book! No premise or story other than Elsa and Anna planning a party for
the villagers and olaf baking cookies.

not….do they? Of course they do and the ensuing pages show as they excavate and
underground tree hollow….spooky hallways and a big scary bear that meets them
at the end of the book…Just what I want to read my two year old as I am trying to get her to bed on her own!!!

IF you want a simple step by step for airport how to and travel…then this
is your book! Perfect for every three year old tourist! I cannot believe that
LEGO could not come up with anything better than…..Arrive at airbort, bags take
a ride…their goes a plane. I know this is an easy reader but seriously what kid
is actually going to take intreset!
Calling All Cars by Sonia Sander 32
The Lego police are on the case when there is a robbery at the bank, with
the help of some clues the police are able to track down the suspects vehicle
and with a peek inside the criminals are caught ant the money is returned.
Huff and Puff Have too Much Stuff by Tish Rabe 24
When Huff and Puff have too much stuff they realize the best thing they
can do is to give some away to others. SO I was hoping by reading this book my
kids would make the connection and be willing to part with some of their
stuff……NO such luck.

After Pete has one bad banana he decides that he will never eat one
again, but after an absence of bananas and big race, Pete decides to give it
another try and what do you think happens? Of course! Pete realizes that he
still does like bananas after all.

perfect, not too scary and the ghost is adorable enough that little ones will
not be scared at bedtime.

I guess simply put this book is page by page spred of cat opposites. Kids
will love to chime in when they know the answer.
Trucktown Race from A to Z by Jon Scieszka 48
I love this series, as was happy to see another title in picture books.
At times the the letters and descriptions are spot on and other times they
seemed stretched to fit the theme, and at 48 pages this book gets a bit too
long for the subject matter of trucks.
Shivery Shades of Halloween by Mary Mckenna Siddals 32
Super disappointed with this title, when I saw the cover with a rainbow
of colors coming out of a cauldron I was expecting a bouncy Halloween story,
but was left wanting more as I red the stanzas and found them describing blood
red….I mean I thought this book was for kids????
The Heaven for Animals by Nancy Tillman 32
I have been waiting and waiting for this book to come in and it finally
did…not because I have lost a pet but because I know someday that will happen
and previous books written by Nancy Tillman have been so heartfelt. This book
was spot on! I dread the day that I will
have to take it home, but despite the subject matter it was perfectly written.
Tuck in Time by by Carole Gerber 40
A bouncy rhyme about bedtime and
as a little one identifies their eyes, ears, tummy and toes. Personally I think this book would wind my
little ones up at bedtime, but still a cute bedtime offering.
Time for Bed by Mem Fox 28
Simple sentences as each animal gets ready for bed, and of course closing
with a little child snuggeled down in the concluding pages. Perfect for bedtime,
and much more subdued to get kids ready for bed.

I really enjoyed this book…at first I thought it was going to be like
most other books new to the market about paleo, but this author really focuses
on the individual and finding the perfect balance…he encourages readers just to
buy simple to start with, not buying overpriced ingriednts that you may use
once or that may sit in your cabinet waiting for you to use them. This book is
perfect for anyone maybe just thinking about trying the paleo method.
The Monster at the End of this Book 24
Kids love this book…As grover pleads with readers to not open this book
or not to turn anymore pages….only to find that he is the monster at the end of
the book…This is the original pigeon book!
Sam the Snowman by Susan Winget 40
Sam learns the lesson of giving….The only way he can make snow is by
giving and so by going to the forest and town and being generous with the
inhabitabts…he finally makes it snow. This title was a bit lame ..even for a
holiday/winter book.
Rainsong Snowsong by philemon Sturges 32
Rhyming couplets start out by talking about rain…and all that comes with
it the second half of the book features the rain changing to snow with the
continued story in rhyme.

I know these book are popular and kids love to see all the trouble that
David gets into but I am gonna say the illustrations remind me of Chucky
dolls…they are just a bit creepy.
Power Reading construction Action by Victoria Hickle 32
Picture icon reading…nothing I hate more… I love being corrected by my 5
year old when I accidentally say bulldozer instead of excavator. This
construction title is told with pictures and words and scholastic would be
doing everyone a favor by adding the
word right under the picture.
Mix it Up by Herve Tullet 56
Love this book! Interactive title that kids will read over and over as
they mix colors by combining pages and learn all about pastels and hues.
Pooh’s Halloween Parade by Isabel Gaines 37
Everyone is ready for Halloween but no one can find eyore! Until they
realize the snoring rock in the back of the room is not really a rock..but
eyore who had fallen asleep.

Champ bear tries to teach the care bears how to play baseball except he
forgets to let them play! Finally he relizes that he is not being a good friend

Lucky for the lost cat his owner is happy to oblige and come bring him home so

is the first thing she does with the ghosts who live there? Wash them…after
hanging them to dry and putting them up as curtains a long day of cleaning can

The Colors in this book are too drab for my taste but the sparing text is
perfect for a quick read. Shapes get added together one by one to create monkey
on the closing pages.

Short Short book but follows the authors traditional dinosaur storyline
of rhyming phrases. Readers who may get discouraged quickly will find this
title not too long and encouraging.
Care Bears Christmas Cheer by Sonia Sanders 24
The Care bears are disappointed that they cannot get out and decorate! As
they sit inside they remince about all the past chirstmass and how much they
enjoyed them. After each care bear has
had a memory it is then that realize that Christmas is special because of the
people you are with.

When Timmy gets sick and momma must leave to get medicine, his siblings
are being too loud for him to rest. When Auntie Shrew suggest they try and make
him better, at first they think there is nothing they can do, but slowly they

This rhyming reader is simple enough, my dislike for the content comes
when authors and publishing houses think they can teach kids to red by showing
them a picture instead of the word…this series basically throws phonetic
awareness out the door.

out that his frined cat has created the faux map to trick him. Pig digs away
anyway, because of course pigs like mud!

Olivia is upset when she cannot find her favorite toy and it is only
later that she realizes that her dog has used it as a chew toy, although she is
very upset after some repairs she forgives her friend soon enough to close the
book will her, her toy and dog all snuggled in for bed.
The Christmas Show by Rebecca Patterson 32
This book was just odd…a little boy talks all about the Christmas show
they are going to have, the practices, the big night and the mistake he makes
in it…with an ending telling readers it doesn’t matter because his grandparent
thought he was the best part of the show…Missed the mark for me not an
essential holiday title.
Counting Crocodiles by Judy Sierra40
The smartest monkey on the sillababble sea outsmarts all the crocs to get
across the ocean to another island to get bananas. Kids love the counting
element in this story and will love to see how the monkey wins at the end of
the day.
Snowflake Day! 14
I am not a fan of Daniel tiger and this book although colorful and
sparkly reinforces the removal of Christmas as a holiday to reassert the
message of “snow and winter” lame! And of course the closing of “Uggga Mugga”
is enough to send me over the edge!
Stop, Train, Stop Rev. W Awdry 48
Thomas the train learns the valuable lesson of slowing down when he zooms
through all of his stops and misses all the little things that he had grown
accoustom to and took forgranted. Kids will get the message to take their time
and slown down.
Snow Bow by Harriet Ziefert
I cannot say enough about this easy reader series….simple yet slowly
helps a reader progress…I love reading these with my son and seeing him get it
or seeing him excited as he actually reads!
The 100 by Cass Morgan
I am not real sure about this book, it is more Sci-Fi than I would
normally read but with the cliff hanger ending I don’t think I have a choice
but to get the next book. This title is set in the future after the earth has
been destroyed by a cataclysmic event. The story follows several teen
characters as they chronicle their life on the ship and the others who have
been dispensed to earth for their second chance…to see if the planet is
inhabitable. I am not a huge fan of
books when the chapters jump between different characters and story lines, but
overall it was still an interesting and new direction for the teen dystopian
genre.
Roar! A Noisy Countdown
A lonely little lion cub cannot understand why none of the other animals
want to play with him every time he pounces on them with his roar! After much
discouragement he finally finds some cubs who want him to come roar along with
them.
One Boy by Lauren Seeger
This simple picture/concept book incorporate counting and a story within
a story as a little boy is introduced and with the following pages showing a
story of animals. It is only at the end that readers are informed that the
actual story was about the little boy and his paintings.
The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
This book set in the future is about how the earth and its population has
been ravaged by P11 a manufactured virus that has killed off most of the
population. Stephen Quinn has been
salvaging with his dad for as long as he can remember, but when there
life takes them in a different direction and his father needs medical help,
Stephen goes off to town a place he thought could never exist and makes friends
that he never thought he would have…I really enjoyed this book because at times
I wanted a happy ending and would be met with reality. In this book you see so
many decisions that are made and consequneces that follow that could have so
easily been avoided.

Sheep get ready for trick or treat with their costumes! As they head
through the forest a wolve is spying but lucky for them their disguise works to
scare him off.
Mrs. Brown Went To Town by Wong Yee
When Mrs. Brown has to go to the hospital her animals take up residence
her home and make a mess and themselves right at home. When Mrs Brown comes
home she does not even notice her bed is full of farm animals until the bed
breaks from the weight of them all…and so it the story ensues with all the
animals and mrs Brown back at the hospital.
Mouse’s First Halloween by Lauren Thompson
This is a cute little reassuring tale for little kids who may be a bit
unsure of Halloween and anything spooky that may come along with it. Mouse sees
all the recognizable Halloween scenes but quickly reassure readers that there
is nothing to be afraid of because it is just…….a jack o lantern.
Uncles and Antlers by Lisa Wheeler
A little neice goes through this title telling readers all about her
crazy uncles and how she is their very favorite neice. Overall it had a cute
ending but the counting and silly rhymes got repitious with out much variation
that made this book more of a chore to read than fun.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer by Robert May
Either I never read the original or this is just a really long version!
This is a rhyming story about how Rudolph came to be one of santas raindeer.
The illustrations are beautiful at time the text can be hard to read due to the
dark background drawings, but overall this was just a long book that my child
just kept trying to turn the page on me…despite the santa subject matter (which
really what kid does not like )!!
