The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains by Neil Gaiman

The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains: A Tale of Travel and Darkness with Pictures of All Kinds by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Eddie Campbell --- 73 pages

This is a beautiful and amazing book, both the words and the pictures telling a tale of love and sorrow, a journey from this world to the other world, a search for hidden treasure, vengeance and remorse.

The Black Mountains are the Black Cuillins of the Isle of Skye. The tale draws inspiration from the legends and history of the Inner and Outer Hebrides off the coast of Scotland, a place where the boundary between the worlds waits within the blink of an eye.

Neil Gaiman worked with Australian artist Eddie Campbell to create a live reading of the story combined with projections of the artwork and accompanied by original music written and performed by the FourPlay String Quartet that premiered at the iconic Sydney Opera House in 2010 and has since been repeated before sold-out crowds at the Barbican Theatre in London and Carnegie Hall in New York. An audio package including the book and artwork, narrated by Gaiman with the music performed by the FourPlay String Quartet, is also available and I highly recommend it for the full sensory experience it provides.
