Sam gets his first library card. He finds lots of books to checkout, but when it's time to return the books, he keeps his three favorites. He returns the rest of his books in the outside book drop. Sam hides his three favorites under his pillow but can't sleep. He tells his Mom in the middle of the night and returns his books the next day. Sam learns to pay his fine and learns he can keep his favorite books just by renewing them. All children should read this book when they get their first library card!
