A Historical Christmas Present by Lisa Kleypas, Lynsay Sands, and Leigh Greenwood

A Historical Christmas Present by Lisa Kleypas, Lynsay Sands, and Leigh Greenwood - 305 pages

A Historical Christmas Present is an anthology of three winter (note I'm not saying Christmas)-themed stories.  In the first, Lisa Kleypas' "I Will" a young British lord who is threatened with removal of his family fortune pretends to court his friend's sister to meet his father's demands.  In the second, Lynsay Sands' "Three French Hens" a young society lady in the 12th-century changes places with a maid to avoid her betrothed.  In the last, Leigh Greenwood's "Father Christmas" an framed escaped convict goes to his old partner's  ranch and finds himself falling in love with the man's pregnant widow.

The first two stories could have set in any season, so I was a bit disappointed (though I liked the twist at the end of "Three French Hens").  In the third, the only one to directly feature Christmastime in the the story, I was not disappointed.  It was not only a good story, but heartwarming.
