The Governor Series of books has followed the rise and fall of the villainous governor from The Walking Dead graphic novels. The Governor is trying to make the town of Woodbury a safe haven for citizens in the midst of the zombie apocalypse. However, the Governor is a psychopath who will stop at nothing to be in control and protect the town he has built.
This book series is more for the fans of the graphic novels than the TV show. The show and the graphic novels share the same characters, but events are different. It has been nice to get a glimpse into what made the Governor into the monster that he is and based on the last two episodes of the show, they are pulling a little from this back story. Warning for readers, there is a torture scene in the book that is pretty brutal to read.
