These books remind of all that was good in Agatha Christie novels. You have a freelance investigator, former FBI profiler Gregor Demarkian, who is asked to assist in murder investigations that have the local authorities baffled. So each book has a new setting and new side characters directly related to the crime, but the same main protagonist and his existing relationships. This entry focuses on the high profile death in an elite rich Connecticut small town. The victim was a suspect in several bank robberies in her youth and then disappeared for thirty years only to show up murdered in her family's vacant mansion on the beach.
