Dracula, by Bram Stoker, 402 pages
Rats- I just could not finish this by the end of the month! Oh well. This is one of those classic books I have never been able to get through completely, but I made myself this time around. The mindset to take when reading this is remembering that it was a completely new story for the public- they didn't know about the rules of vampires and blood-sucking was totally shocking and it set the dialogue for all subsequent vampire fiction. And there's alot packed in here- gender issues, superstition versus supernatural. It's an interesting read, but a little lengthy to read without having to do it for a class.
