Dangerous in Diamonds by Madeline Hunter

Dangerous in Diamonds by Madeline Hunter - 359 pages

The Duke of Castleford is dismayed to discover that he has inherited four small holdings of land and their tenants from his uncle.  They come with the directions that he wishes the tenants to stay on the land for a rent of only $1 a year.  This of course catches his interest and he sets out to discover what he can about these tenants.  The first he meets is Daphne Joyes, owner of the floral business The Rarest Blooms.  He immediately sets out to seduce her, manipulating her into coming into town to bargain for the land.  The problem is that Daphne seems to be the one woman who isn't interested in him.
This is the fourth book in Madeline Hunter's Regency Quartet.  I had previously read the third book and was entertained enough to read the fourth book.  I liked this book better.  So now I need to hunt down the first two books in the series.
