Turning Points in American History
By Edward T. O’Donnell
402 pages
This publication takes a fresh look at American history. It
begins with the great epidemic of 1617 and ends with 9/11. Many of the
traditional American history subjects are covered, including the Declaration of
Independence; the Mexican War; and the New Deal etc. However, they are given in
a unique way. Professor O’Donnell describes history as a study of choices and
he presents it this way.
O’Donnell also includes many non-traditional subject matter such
as the history of baseball; the national parks; the hookworm epidemic of the
south; the birth of television and the personal computer. The professor describes
every aspect of American history in an easy to comprehend manner. I enjoyed it
greatly.
