The Shiniest Jewel: a Family Love Story, by Marian Henley, 176 pages
I picked this up a couple of weeks ago, realized halfway through that I had read it once before, and then forgot until now that I read it the second time. But for others, maybe this would resonate. The author realizes at age 49 that she really wants to be a mother, and starts the process of adopting a baby from a Russian orphanage. At the same time that she is experiencing an addition to her life, she is also experiencing the prolonged illness and eventual death of her father. This is a graphic novel.
