Man Up! Tales of My Delusional Self Confidence by Ross Mathews
Forward by Gwyneth Paltrow, Afterword by Chelsea Handler, 216 pages
I was a little disappointed in this book. I am not really a fan of Ross Mathews, but I liked all of Chelsea Handler's books. Ross Mathews appears on her show, and she did write the afterword of this book. I thought there would be a lot more about Ross' current stint on the Chelsea Handler Show as well as more on when he started at the Tonight Show. He does tell of how he was hired on the Tonight Show and thanks Jay Leno for his start in show business. My favorite chapter in the book was when he worked at Lane Bryant and got fired for stealing lady's pajama bottoms. He also discusses his sexuality and writes many stories from his childhood and growing up. In the back of the book is a quiz which I got 7 out of 10 right, so I guess I paid some attention to this book. The biggest thing I did not know is he is best friends with Gwyneth Paltrow! Man Up! is a quick, entertaining summer read.
