Twelve year old twins Joe and Abigail Templeton have been kidnapped by twin brothers Dean D. Dean and Dan D. Dean. Dean D. Dean wants their father to turn over the plans to a personal helicopter in a knapsack that he claims the father stole from him. However, the Templeton Twins have an idea or two on how to save themselves and their father and stop the evil Dean D. Dean.
This was an unusual book. The narrator of the story talks directly to the reader putting in lots of asides about how he hates to write and how wonderful and smart he is. The style was interesting at first but quickly got old. Still, kids would probably enjoy reading the book.
