Drops of God, 1, by Tadashi Agi

Drops of God, 1, by Tadashi Agi, 416 pages

This is one of those books that doesn't sound very interesting, but is all around well-written, a good story, and actually makes wine sound interesting.  Publication of this actually influenced wine prices around the world, which is fascinating.  Shizuku's father was a world-renowned wine critic who hoped his son would follow in his footsteps.  Instead, Shizuku wanted nothing to do with wine.  But upon his father's death, Shizuku finds that his father left a puzzle involving wine identification and tasting, and Shizuku must unravel the mystery, or else a rival wine critic will inherit his estate.  This is just the first volume, and the series is ongoing, so reading it means investing in a long series.
