Saturn Apartments 1, by Hisae Iwaoka, 192 pages
It is the future, and all of Earth's population has moved to a tubular ring of apartments 35000 meters above the planet. The apartments are stratified into lower, middle, and upper levels, and young Mitsu witnesses all of them in his job as window cleaner. Mitsu has a dangerous job- one that led to the disappearance of his father 5 years ago- but he has a good heart, and tries to bring joy to the lives of people who just want a little real sunlight. I really liked this- inoffensive enough for younger people, with a good enough story for older people, as well.
