Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel 532 pages
This book was very long! Thomas Cromwell is a very interesting man. He is the son of a blacksmith, but
he rises to a very high place in King Henry VIII's court. He is a lawyer and a "fixer" for Thomas Wolsey Lord Chancellor of England. Wolsey falls out of favor with King Henry when he cannot get his marriage to Queen Catherine of Aragon annulled. Thomas Cromwell steps up to help the King get his heart's desire-the beautiful Anne Boleyn. This is a fascinating picture of what politics may have been like at the court of King Henry VIII.
