Will Eisner is a comics legend, having written what is largely recognized as the first graphic novel in 1978. That said, I didn't really enjoy these short comics. They were fairly Mad-magazine-y, with Reader's Digest -like punchlines, which I guess contributed to the overall outdated feel. There is one good story about a man who lives a life of obscurity, retires, and becomes a private investigator, and one about a hitman who spends decades trying to kill his target before he dies, himself.
